I started in September of 2018 with one student who I taught throughout the semester, and seeing him grow throughout the months was satisfying unlike anything else I've experienced. I taught one student a semester due to my school commitments but still managed to teach them a lot and open their eyes to the world of music. My lessons are not built for me to tell the student what to do, but rather learn how they learn and research the best practices for reaching that student. There is no "cookie cutter" method that works for all students, because everyone learns and comprehends a little bit differently. I remain sensitive to that and patient with my students. Before graduating I did my student teaching in Grambling, La at the laboratory school. This school had students from K - 12 and I had the opportunity to work with all grades. Though I went on to pursue other studies, music has remained both a leading player in my life and the field in which I have the most raw talent and experience. Since then I have performed in several groups and as a solo act. I played fiddle for the Galveston based folk band "The Grog". I was the resident church pianist for Christ Presbyterian Church in Daphne, AL, as well as the Keyboardist and backup singer for the Daphne based classic rock band "Mid Life Crisis" for three years.
