For the older students I love to help get them into bands and open jams so they can experience playing live in front of a crowd and with other musicians. I love teaching and playing all styles of music from Jazz, Metal, Rock, Latin, Rap, Reggae, etc. When I'm not teaching I am traveling with various bands around the country and playing on major music festivals. I love music and I love teaching! I took piano lessons as a child, was in a band as a teenager, and began giving piano lessons in my 20's. I teach all styles of music, sight-reading, music theory and ear training. For those students more more interested in learning pop or jazz, I give special attention to chords and "lead sheet" playing. I grew up in Gillette Wyoming playing Euphonium and Trombone, also achieving 4 years in the all state band. From there, I went to the University of North Texas, and my world grew so much larger. As the largest Euphonium studio in the world, I was blown out of the water at the ability level of the players around me. I achieved both a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Euphonium performance.
