I recently graduated from NYU with a master's in vocal performance, concentrating in musical theatre, and an advanced certificate in vocal pedagogy. A voice lesson to me to should be easygoing and open, while having a task to accomplish. I encourage my students to enter my studio with an open mind and feel free to explore artistically. We set goals together and progress vocally with each song. I have an extensive library of music as well which my students are free to use to find new material. I started my teaching career my sophomore year of college while studying the performing arts. I first began teaching at a music school in Greenwich, CT after being referred by my orchestra conductor. After teaching there for a few months i was then recommended by a fellow teacher to instruct at a school in Darien, CT as well as their sister store where I developed a strong clientele. As a teacher, I have worked on vocal technique and coached audition material with many fellow actors. I have also worked with high-schoolers on material from musicals. I am a very patient, fun and challenging teacher for all skill levels.  I have small recording studio in my home that I use to make demos for my students, or record lessons and backing tracks. For those students (both children and adults) who are just beginning lessons, we will focus on the development of basic technique. This is centered around breathing, posture, and basic musicianship. We will spend time working on basic notes, rhythms, and ear-training in addition to vocalizing and learning songs to help develop and reinforce what we learn in our exercises. Murrow high school of performing arts where I learned to hone my voice whilst learning guitar. I kept growing in musicianship throughout college, where I had started recording my music.
