I offer a truly bespoke approach to each student, because all students are different, and your lessons should be tailored and unique to you. My personal training in voice was a very one-size-fits-all approach--if I couldn't do something in a certain way that my instructors wanted, I would often disappoint them, or continue to run up against a brick wall in my progress. For young students in first through sixth grade, I start them with the "Rubank Elementary Method for Trumpet or Cornet." Once the student feels comfortable with the basics out of that book, I will introduce recognizable solo repertoire and the Fundamentals for Brass Book by William BIng, which has a focus on fundamental control of the Trumpet. I am a passionate and intuitive teacher who loves working with students to find their true singing voice. My interest in singing began in community college. I watched my peers perform on stage, singing on top of orchestras without using a microphone or any type of amplification and it made me want to know what it took to be able to replicate that. To be honest, I didn't become serious about teaching in the arts until I went to graduate school from 2019 - 2022. There, I co-taught a class in the winter 2022 to undergraduates and realized I enjoyed teaching a variety of artists and helping them to feel more open in sharing their art and artistic practices. When I graduated, I knew that the next logical and intuitive step for me was teaching.
