I have created a curriculum which is comprised of the Suzuki series for Violin, the String Builder Series by Samuel Applebaum; the Introducing the Positions-Volumes I & 2 and Scale studies by Harvey S. Whistler. Music theory is taught using the Master Theory Series by Charles S.Peters and Paul Yoder. Additional Etudes that focus on Bowings, and Double Stops are taught to the more advanced student. Music has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember! I started playing the electric organ when I was about 7 years old. I couldn't read music yet, but I would listen to my dad play and just copy him. When I was in 3rd grade I started playing cello... in 5th grade the trombone.... in 8th grade the drums.... in high school the bass guitar.... and later it was the guitar, violin, viola and ukulele. I am a passionate musician and teacher who loves working with new violinists. There is nothing greater than seeing a child (or adult) begin the musical journey. In 2007, I graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a Bachelors of Arts after spending four years in intesive violin studies.  I am fortunate to have performed with many chamber orchestras and quartets over the years. For Beginning students or kids from 3 years old, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements and also some other theory to help them to read the notes on staff. Once Student slightly progressed, I will begin to start shop pieces with another finger technique etude, to building stronger and solid finger and also I would recommend some music repertories to listen to it, just for building music expression. For the Adult or Teenager, I would like to know what kind of music brings them here, and we can set that piece what they eventually want to play as a goal, and helping student build and practice the technique. I have enjoyed teaching violin and piano for over 25 years.  For younger students, beginning at age 4, I utilize Suzuki method which utilizes musical games that develop listening skills. As students progress, they learn note reading and develop proper violin technique through scale studies and bowing practice.
