My private teaching career began in high school, where I was asked by the music teachers in my school district in Westchester, New York to assist in preparing middle- and elementary school students for local competitions and festivals (such as NYSSMA). During college, I was able to maintain a private studio and was fortunate enough to spend summers assistant teaching at music festivals. I enjoy teaching violin to students of all ages and seeing them progress from novices to advanced players.I develop a rapport with the students and their parents and tailor the lessons to match their goals. Several of my students have auditioned and been accepted by orchestras such as the Essex County Youth Symphony, the NJ Youth Symphony, the Westfield Youtn Orchestra and the  Montclair Gamer Orchestra. For beginning students who are children. I typically start with Suzuki Violin Book or Hal Leonard's Essential elements. Once the students has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce some repertoire they can perform. For adults, I try to find out what music the students are interested in and as teaching basic skills, I will teach music what they would like to perform. For beginning students, I typically start with the Suzuki Method while combining it with the Essential Elements Method. As the student learns the fundamentals I gradually add scales and exercises to further develop the student's technique. After further progress, I begin to introduce solo repertoire and add other pieces.
