As a teacher, I bring with me over 13 years of experience working with violinists ranging from young beginners to advanced, conservatory-level musicians. I am passionate about pedagogy and foster a fun, productive, and confidence-building lesson environment that is tailored to each students individual learning style and goals. I have created my own personalized curriculum from violin schools including the Suzuki Method and Mimi Zweig, as well as that of my mentor, the renowned violin pedagogue Shirley Givens. Read More

Instruments: Piano Violin Mandolin Electric Violin Fiddle Music

I have been teaching using the Suzuki method for more than 20 years. I love working with young kids because I understand the value of introducing them to music at a young age. They will become fluent in a musical language that they will carry with them throughout their lives. For more advanced students, I enjoy the challenge of training them to produce a professional quality sound when they play advanced repertoire. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my school days, as I began teaching private lessons part time ,from 2003,and have been consistently teaching students in my home and at students homes, for the last 10 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for the younger students, as it tends to help the student progress. Thanks to my studying of violin teaching methodology,I found that, there’s no ideal formula of teaching violin to everyone, the same way ,as ,there’s no ideal magor or minor scale, for practicing only that technique to achieve the best result, as people have defferent cultural and musical backgrounds, so student should enjoy the lesson and have fun while learning . Instruments: Piano Voice Violin Saxophone Bassoon

I like my lessons to be fun! I like to start my lesson with a "music swap": we each play one minute of a song that we found that week from youtube or spotify and take 30-60 seconds to say why we found it interesting or inspiring (it can be any genre). We then aim to discuss and practice a new technical skill and use exercises to develop it, we work on a song from the method series or a song that the student wants to work on (I often transpose pop/rock songs for my students), and then rhythm training, ear training, and music theory concepts are interspersed throughout. Instruments: Piano Violin Cello Viola Keyboard

I set up each lesson of what and how to practice at home. So whatever we do in the lesson, is what you are to do in your personal practice, making it super easy! I suggest each students sits with the instrument at least 3 days a week, not including lesson day. I give you fun and easy warm ups to explore how to use the instrument. Then we work on fun pieces to explore the many beautiful sounds of your instrument and your voice as musician. Read More

Instruments: Piano Guitar Violin Cello Drums Banjo Mandolin Fiddle Orchestral Percussion Music Electric Guitar Classical Guitar Acoustic Guitar

For beginner students, I start with instrumental mechanics and very approachable ear training. We will listen to various styles of music in order to see the natural inclination and joy that the student possesses. From there, we will take our time developing good habits while learning music that the student finds fun and satisfying. I seek to instill musical goals and aspirations in new students by sharing and demonstrating music that they really enjoy. Read More

Instruments: Violin

I have created a curriculum which is comprised of the Suzuki series for Violin, the String Builder Series by Samuel Applebaum; the Introducing the Positions-Volumes I & 2 and Scale studies by Harvey S. Whistler. Music theory is taught using the Master Theory Series by Charles S.Peters and Paul Yoder. Additional Etudes that focus on Bowings, and Double Stops are taught to the more advanced student. Musical compositions such as Sonatas and Concertos by the major composers continue to develop the skills of the advanced student. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
