Hey! I am a performer, and I love to find various ways to perform as a musician, actor, comedian, and teacher/tutor/mentor. I love to connect and communicate with audiences and/or students through my voice, my jokes, or my instruments. I graduated from Rutgers University in 2012 with a bachelors in Psychology and Theater Arts, and spent much of my time performing on stage in musicals and plays. For voice, I focus on proper understanding of the body and its role in singing. I combine this with a breakdown of individual skills followed by performance practice. The combination of the 2 allows there to be an understanding of the correct technique and an immediate opportunity for application. I love to do a combination of Suzuki and traditional styles. I believe ear-training and traditional sight-reading are both crucial to young musicians. I began Suzuki piano when I was five and I'm so thankful to have such a keen ear as a professional violinist. If the student has had music lessons before, I'm very happy to continue teaching whatever method they had previously started with. Effective music education is both developmentally and culturally appropriate: By working with the student to understand their interests, I hope to provide them with an experience that will enrich their musical and social life outside of the work we do together. Through infancy, I believe Music Learning Theory is effective for developing musical and linguistic skills.
