2014 NYU Music Department Scholarship
I am Cristina, Violin Piano Music teacher, recording artist and educator. Classical trained from Piano and Violin when I was 5 and switched to viola after high school. I earned Advanced Certificate and Music Performance Master degreed from New York University where I also worked as Adjunct Faculty .Beside teaching I do recording project, such as Original Sound track for film,Netflix and Album and game music when I was studying in school, I had also performed at major music festival such as in Norway, Czech Republic and Korea and having lots of recital.
I have taught students of all ages from 3 to teenager and adults. I also have prepared students for ABRSM exams, NYSSMA exams, specialized middle school and high school auditions, pre-college programs and other auditions. I have also taught students who are learning just for themselves from reading sheet music. I like to teach students the method and tip to practice, and encourage student challenge something new techniques , and most important is expression from music. I love to help students to reach their goal or giving them practice tips. Have fun with music.
For Beginning students or kids from 3 years old, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements and also some other theory to help them to read the notes on staff. Once Student slightly progressed, I will begin to start shop pieces with another finger technique etude, to building stronger and solid finger and also I would recommend some music repertories to listen to it, just for building music expression. For the Adult or Teenager, I would like to know what kind of music brings them here, and we can set that piece what they eventually want to play as a goal, and helping student build and practice the technique.
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I understand some student may not have much time to practice, so I encourage as long as you practice even once or twice per week , set a short goal even one line two lines on the music or couple of bars, progress little and slow but practice on the right way, building right correct position and get used of it still helpful then nothing or some incorrect habit.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
