I create custom lesson plans for each student based on their level, interests and goals. Typically I start brand new beginners with the basics, learning the parts of the instruments and the notes. Being a very visual learner myself, I enjoy using method books such as the Sassmannshaus series, as they are beautifully illustrated and help to capture and hold young children's attention. Other operatic role experience of mine includes ensemble member and Adele (cover) in Die Fledermaus, Jenny Slade in Roman Fever, and Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflte at Carnegie Mellon. I have also performed as a soloist with the Carnegie Mellon University choir and the CMU Singers chamber group. This past December I was the soprano soloist in the Faur Requiem with the Carnegie Mellon University choir. In addition, I have attended the Redwoods Opera Workshop, the Savannah Voice Experience Festival, and the International Vocal Arts Institute where I performed the role of Le Converse in Suor Angelica and was a soloist on several concert programs. My teaching experience is quite varied. I've taught young children as a member of Mimi Zweig's pedagogy classes, and I currently teach group classes to 3rd-5th graders here in NYC. I've taught chamber music to teenagers in Indiana University's Summer String Academy and to adult learners in Montreal.
