Singing is about expressing yourself, not about fitting into "molds." I'm interested in helping you find YOUR voice. Because of this, I use a highly individualized method of teaching, adapting my approach based on your wants and needs. If you want to sing classical music, let's sing classical music. If you want to get into pop or rock genres, let's rock out. With this in mind, my number one objective is to help you grow and develop towards your goals in a way that's both healthy and sustainable. Working for a local drum teacher in 2005, I started teaching private music lessons in students' homes. From there, I took up residence at a local music store where I taught guitar, ukulele, bass, harmonica, songwriting, and music theory for the next fifteen years. During the pandemic, I added teaching virtually to my repertoire and have fallen in love with it. Personally, I started playing music because I loved exploring and learning more about the music I I was already listening to--and I desperately wanted to learn how I could create my own sounds. The first two things that I teach in my studio is posture and breathing. I analyze the posture of the singer and find several yoga postures that can help the student to relax some tension and to be more comfortable. I help students to be more aware of how the breath works in their bodies by using several repeating breath exercises and yoga posture. My vocal technique is based on YogaVoice, meaning that I used Yoga principles combined with Vocal Technique exeecises to sing more organic and to achieve an authentic relaxed voice. Read More

My methods are tailored to each individual student. One size does not fit all in vocal training, and while the same foundational aspects are being taught, the implementation with which they are delivered is different for everyone. I always begin by focusing on teaching the breath and breath support and control as the solid base upon which to build your entire training, as this is used across the varied styles of music performance universally. I tailor to the desire/ ability level of each student accordingly. Depending on how hard a student is willing to work, I conduct the lessons in an appropriate matter. I learn what the student loves about music and try to work from there so that the experience is meaningful, advantageous, and fun. Sharing music with others is incredibly important to me as a person. Music can bring people a sense of accomplishment and joy for the rest of their lives, that can become a truly valuable part of themselves and their future. Read More

My teaching experience has brought me students who have sung in many different arenas of life, ranging from National TV syndicates like America's Got Talent and Olympics Official commercials to simple, back-to-basics instruction for the layman who loves to sing and just wants to know how to do it better. I'm comfortable with all singing situations and I love to make lessons relaxed and fun. Having been on stage for 40 years, I've run into just about every problem a performer can run into. Read More

I portrayed characters like Maddalena in Verdis Rigoletto, Ciesca in Puccinis Gianni Schicchi, and Suor Infermiera in Puccinis Suor Angelica. The same year, I embraced the role of a 'Witch' in MSM's compelling production of "Dido and Aenas" by Henry Purcell. Looking ahead to the spring of 2024, I eagerly anticipate my role as the enchanting 'Fairy' in Jules Massenet's "Cendrillon," a prestigious MSM production. These diverse roles showcase my versatility and commitment to bringing stories to life through evocative performances. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
