Master Degree: Manhattan School of Music
President's Award - Manhattan School of Music Scholarship
I'm a passionate instruction who loves working with students. I recently graduated from Manhattan School of Music with a Masters degree in Classical Voice. I'm also a Singer-Songwriter and love singing varied styles like Pop, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Opera! I've even conducted choirs, worked with bands and produced shows. I've performed in various venues around the city and have even been reviewed by Metropolitan Opera's Opera News -" commanded the plot with lovely sound and subtle charm. "
I've taught for more than 6 years and I've worked with students of all age groups with a diverse range of experience. Having a classical technique is always beneficial for a clean sound. Most of the things we hear on the radio are filtered and shouldn't be forced out! I have worked with a wide range of stylistic choices and would love to assist students in exploring their capabilities. Being a performer myself, I ensure that the students are having fun and are ready to sing whenever and wherever! Cause what's the point of the hard work if you don't go outside and try it :) All said and done, I'm looking forward to learning and teaching the student. I've worked with a wide range of ages, even as young as 6! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
For any student, I analyse what they want. It solely depends on the level of experience and the stylistic journey the student wants to go on. The basics of warm-up remain the same across all styles. It's the subtle changes internally that make the drastic changes which completely change a style. For children, I tend to start with basic and easy songs and we build from there. For adults, it solely depends on what they are looking for. For professionals, I'd love to work stylistically and focus on the craft.
It really doesn't matter how quickly or slowly does a person learn. What matters is it's done positively and it should be lively! We are making music and it shouldn't end up becoming boring, sad or depressing! I ensure that the student enjoys every moment of the lesson. The only thing I request all students is to find some time to practise. That is the only way that we can get what we want. It's not about sounding like a singer that you like, it's about sounding like yourself! Cause who knows the world is probably waiting for your sound :)
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
