Most importantly, learning violin should be fun.  In my lessons, my students will find a variety of rhythm games and activities.  I am not just teaching violin, but music as a whole. I feel that music appreciation needs to be built into violin lessons.  I will share pop and classical music with students, show them live performance videos, and encourage them to experiment with their own natural abilities.  I am a big communicator when teaching beginning students. In 2010, I founded the Hidden Treasure Project© dedicated to diversifying the established repertoire by the inclusion of lesser-known music. As a specialist of the music of the Caucasus, I not only performed but also lectured at the Wayne State University, Columbia University, Arizona State University, and the University of Alberta. The Hidden Treasure© CD, launched in 2017, features the unknown gems of Armenian composers. I studied in Spain, where I won several chamber music competitions, until 2007. When I was 19 I moved to London to continue my studies at the Guildhall School of Music Drama with professors Sven Arne Tepl and Rachel Roberts where I attained a Bachelor of Music with Honours 2:1. In 2011 I was finalist in the Max and Peggy Morgan Competition. Following my Bachelors degree, I completed a Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music under professor Jonathan Barritt and was awarded this in 2014. Read More

When I was two years old, I saw a young girl play the violin in a concert. I was so inspired that I begged my parents to let me begin violin lessons. Finally, at five years old, I stood proudly with my tiny violin and have not put it down since. Playing the violin has taken me around the world for various performances, music festivals, and teaching workshops. I have performed as a soloist with the New York Concerti Sinfonietta in Carnegie Hall, traveled to three different continents for music festival concerts, and co-founded the Heartbeat Project and the Joining Hands Project. I have taught a range of students from kids to teenagers to adults on violin, viola, piano, and drums. I have taught at churches, summer camps, colleges, student homes, and schools. I have taught a variety of genres, but classical music is certainly my forte. I currently teach at Edward R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn, NY, where I also teach students after school as well, so I have a surplus of experience working with students of varying ages in a professional and nonprofessional environment.
