My beginning students usually start with Hal Leonards Essential Elements, Accents on Achievements, Do It Play In Band, and much more. Once my student is able to grasp basic fundamentals and a healthy proper tone and technique, I will then be able to incorporate solo repertoire for future recitals and contests. For adults, I will find out what interests my students and coordinate my lessons accordingly to keep the lesson engaging and fun. Read More

I prefer 60 minute sessions to have the time to fully evaluate and advance from the previous lesson and to move on to new material. I use the student's preferred style of music to teach them how to play, and expand their styles and technique from there. Read More

My goal for the initial meeting with a student is to know what their joy and passion is with music. I ask them to share what style of music they enjoy listening to and if they are open to creating their own song. Read More
