At a very young age I was fascinated with hearing guitar solo's and listening to guitar parts by all the legends. Eventually after working with a classical guitar that my sister had, I purchased a Harmony guitar from a friend of my dad's (John "Hollywood" Bridgewater). Whenever I would meet musicians in school that played we would get together and trade licks. That eventually turned into me teaching all my guitar playing friends licks. Read More

Most of my students (who don't already know) start off with basic theory (Major Scale & Major and Minor Chord Formulas). Whatever their ultimate goal for learning would determine where I would take it from there. If your goal is to play one song for your significant other we can do just that. If your goal is to perform we can cater to that as well. Maybe you're goal is to learn enough to write your own songs. Read More

I'm a 22-year-old music lover! I have played guitar since I was 10 years old and have taught and played with several people throughout the world. I've performed in college classes, community events, and church devotionals. I have taught people from age 8 up to 40 and absolutely love it! Music helps me express myself and teaching others how to do the same is my greatest passion! Not only do I love teaching people, but I love getting to know them as well. Read More

I like to see where each student is in terms of what there level and understanding of music is. I like to know what your goals are and adapt my style to help you achieve them. I will usually break up each lesson into 3 parts. Chord theory, scale theory, and technique. The technique section can cover several different playing techniques as well as an emphasize on the ones your most interested in. Read More

I feel like I've been a musician my whole life, starting when I was about 8 or 9 years old and singing in my first Barbershop Quartet and later joining the Chorus. My voice has been my main instrument and I have had the pleasure and challenge of singing in choruses and lead roles in musicals and operas, as well as many solos in major choral works, like the Bach Mass and Mozart's Requiem as well as works by Benjamin Britten. My teaching started in High School, when i received a job offer to teach guitar at Rhapsody School of Music. I taught students for about 2 years, and once I graduated High School, I moved to Flagstaff to get my degree. Once I was living in Flagstaff, I taught and helped my peers with guitar and music theory, which made my love for music grow even more. I love working with any student that has an interest in music. I generally like to start my beginning students with lesson plans from the book" The Secrets of playing Piano by Ear" by Jermaine Griggs. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. I try to focus on what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lesson fresh and FUN! Read More
