I graduated in 2011 from Appalachian State University with a Bachelorof Music in Voice Performacne and I continued my education at ASU and recieved my Masters of Music in Voice Performance in 2013. During both degrees, I performed mainstage roles such as Nemorino in Donizetti'sElixir of Love, the Witch in Humperdink's Hansel and Gretel, Bastienin Mozart's Bastien und Bastienne, and Gherardo in Puccini's GianniSchicchi, as well as performed solos with the Appalachian Chorale suchas Handel's Messiah and Mendelsohn's Elijah. While there, I tutored several classmates in musical theatre, taught private piano lessons, and worked with several classmates on their voice pieces for our recital at the end of each semester. As the only student to play piano and have a classical background in voice, I was the go-to-guy when people needed help. After graduating, I worked as a choreographer for a local community theatre, I taught gymnastics (former gymnast of 8 years), and continued to work with students and friends in both voice and piano. In 2010, I graduated from Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sacred Music. During my time at PC, I sang and accompanied the Presbyterian College Choir, Cantare! I was an educator in the Seneca Falls Central Schools for 38 years where I first became an instrumental music teacher. I taught woodwind lessons grades 5-12 and conducted elementary and middle school bands. I coached high school woodwind groups and was assistant marching band director, as well as woodwind adjudicator for the NY State School Music Association.  Music is a very physical thing as well as a very abstract thing.  In my lessons, there will be kennistetic learning through movement as well as teaching through sensation. Using tools like Solfege it helps create muscle memory and tuning. Piano students will learn a wealth of theory knowledge, correct posture and fingering patterns. I will also encourage singing in my piano lessons to reaffirm the student's aural skills. The Alexander Technique is also something that my students will explore in our lessons. Read More

I love seeing students progress and grow a passion for music. I think that it is extremely important that a student have a working trust with their music teacher. Opening up and allowing oneself to be real and show another person your raw self is difficult for both adults and children alike.
