After transferring to Wingate University I began studying choral music education because I was fascinated byhow the voice works and blends with other voices in a choir situation. For beginning students on guitar i typically start wih Hal Leonards book 1. With about 50 pages in this book, we can go thru at a steady pace and be playing songs from the beginning. Makeing music from the very beginning is the key ! Even the simple one line practice exercizes i back up with a harmonic chordal accompaniment for a satisfying duet. I then progress to the notes on each string and introduce some basic exercises for hand coordination. We can then progress through scales and chords and touching on some music theory.
