I don't half way teach and desire my students to be able to sight read music and understand timing. If i have a student that doesn't understand I explain in in math and they have all understood how important timing is. Students work at their pace and have some students work very fast and move quickly while others are slower. Read More

Since we are all individuals with our own stories to tell, our own desires and goals and our own way of developing it is essential to teach a lesson where each student evolves at their own pace with my guidance and encouragement. We set goals and work on their vocal books which can be used for any audition, performance or personal events. Students are eager to learn when they know they are able to choose their material while also knowing I will challenge them with my selections as well. Read More

I want all of my students smiling and laughing and feeling the joy in discovering how to play music that brings them passion. I break it down into steps for my students. I explain to my piano, guitar, voice students in such a way that it really assists them in understanding the process of learning music. We gradually develop one motor skill after another motor skill. It becomes fun as we get more comfortable with each skill, we add-on more skills, and beautiful pieces of music arise out of our development. Read More

For children beginners, I usually start with either Faber & Faber Piano Adventure or Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. When the students have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will start introducing solo repertoire to get them ready for their first recital performance. For adult students, I guide my instruction accordingly after finding out what the student is interested in to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

My teaching goal is to encourage my students to be lifelong patrons of the arts. I understand that every student may not be interested in a career in music. I encourage students to set goals and work toward them. These goals may include a scholarship audition, playing a piece in front of a family member, or booking their first professional "gig." My main goal is to provide inspiration and inspire a student ( no matter what the starting place) to pick a 'first goal." This "first goal" allow the student to set a goal and create a path for success under the supervision of a trained professional. Read More

My experiences in and out of the classroom continuously pushes me to evolve my philosophy and teaching style. Music is not just about singing or playing the right notes and lyrics. It is about making connections from most personal experiences through the most universal language. This is the kind of experience I hope to share with my students through music in a safe, challenging, and creative environment. It doesn’t matter whether students are seasoned musicians or first-time singers. Read More

As I mentioned before, my teaching style can best be described as easygoing, but precise and adapted to each students needs. I focus on the person trying to learn as much as on the learning itself. Yet, Im not demanding or harsh in my delivery or expectations. Rather than a standard, vanilla approach, I try learn my students personality, learning style, and sense of humor pretty quickly and work to adapt the facts and knowledge of music to each student as an individual human, not an appointment.
