I have a tried and true set of vocal building exercises (also known as "warmups") that I use with all of my students. These exercises help to strengthen students middle voices, extend their ranges, increase their agility, and increase their stamina. I combine these exercises with carefully assigned repertoire to promote growth and functional freedom. I love to have my students sing in many different genres because our voices are muscles, and I believe that they should be cross-trained so one can be as versatile and flexible as possible. If the lesson is with a beginning student I work mostly on technique and when I feel the student is ready we move on to repertoire. I have over 10 years of experience in my field and 5 years of teaching under my belt.  Growing up with my father as a music teacher and my Grandmother as a dance teacher, teaching came very naturally to me.  Having sung a variety of genres myself, I have always welcomed a wide variety of students.  I’ve taught many types of singers ranging from Jazz Vocalists to Rock, Country, Pop, etc. and as a result I’ve put together a method of teaching that can be applied to many styles of music.  I find teaching to be a very rewarding job and always welcome new students of all ages, levels, and genres.
