I am a passionate performer and teacher who enjoys working with students of all ages and sharing my experiences with them. In 1997, I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater from the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and have been performing and teaching professionally ever since. I vary my teaching methods according to the level and needs of each student. Each and every lesson is tailored toward the musical goals and dreams of the students. I believe in creating engaging lessons that students will enjoy but also learn a great deal from. For beginner students, I show them some fun ways of working on their breathing techniques, then I sing short melodies to them and ask them to sing them back to me, then I let them sing a little melody to me and I sing it back to them. With well over 100 productions under my belt I've worked with casts on learning music and shaping songs. My teaching experience started at the School of Rock and I loved it ever since. I continued to improve on my teaching ability as an English Teacher in China. I lead some group lessons at "Group Expression" in Shanghai; working with non native English speakers. The skills learned as an English teacher have helped immensily with communicating with students on how to better approach their singing. I like to use the IPA chart to break down words in any language which helps immensly when talking to students regardless of native tounge. Read More

I have over 10 years of experience in my field and 5 years of teaching under my belt.  Growing up with my father as a music teacher and my Grandmother as a dance teacher, teaching came very naturally to me.  Having sung a variety of genres myself, I have always welcomed a wide variety of students.  I’ve taught many types of singers ranging from Jazz Vocalists to Rock, Country, Pop, etc. and as a result I’ve put together a method of teaching that can be applied to many styles of music.  I find teaching to be a very rewarding job and always welcome new students of all ages, levels, and genres. After gathering that information I ask them to sing a song that they enjoy or that means something to them. I am an enthusiastic, compassionate, energetic teacher who loves teaching voice and piano! I love building enthusiasm for music of all types and genres! In 2022, I graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with high distinction in Vocal Performance. I have had opportunities to perform in venues like the historical Old Cabell Hall, the Kennedy REACH Center for the Arts, the PowerStation recording studio, the Cutting Room, and Green Room 42 (two historic venues in New York City).
