Learning. It has to be fun. Case in point: I usually select repertoire’ that is conducive to the students learning but often out of their safety zone. The student usually responds quite favorably to new genre’, but if they don’t, we move on to another song that won’t just help them learn, but will be fun or enjoyable for them to learn. Enjoy the process and the learning will happen organically. Read More

I am very relaxed in my teaching style and love the satisfaction of teaching privately. I choose to teach privately due to the heightened intensity of interaction with students and the fact that we can create a process that is uniquely adapted to the needs of each student. I have expectations for my students and they have expectations for me. I love that. I know and understand that if a student does not understand the method, technique, or approach I am trying to teach, it is not the student's fault, it is mine. Read More

The pedegogy I teach is called Mix- True Belcanto. The beauty of this technique is the it puts the vocal registers in perfect balance allowing the singer to apply it to any type of music they wish to sing and not have to be limited. Read More

The challenge comes into play with the fact the fundamentals can get tedious and boring! It is my duty to share creativity and fun ways of practicing the basics so my students can grow while enjoying what they are doing! Read More

The pursuit of music and creativity is unique to each individual and, therefore, each individual needs to be taught differently to help them discover and maximize their own abilities.Jason is a highly accomplished musician who believes that learning to read music and understand music theory is vastly important, but doesn't use the same approach, resources, books, etc. for each student. I have one major rules for all my students: No one is allowed to be overly critical of themselves when they are working hard and trying out new ideas. You see, singing takes quite a bit of coordination, and there is always something else to work on. We must celebrate our triumphs and then take stock of what we need to work on next. Instead of asking a student what they think was wrong, I like to ask students to first list 3 things they think went well. Read More
