Overview:
Music had always been a passion of mine since I was a child. I began voice lessons at the age of 14, and in high school began to train with Mr. Lawrence Lohman. Mr. Lohman conducted the Kingston High School Choir, as well as taught voice classes. Through his teaching, I was able to develop my voice. In May of 2012, Mr. Lohman took me to New York City to work with David Leighton, the youngest assistant conductor for the Metropolitan Opera. He then introduced me to bass-baritone Franco Bertacci. He studied with famous operatic singers such as Franco Corelli and Thomas LoMonaco. From there, he began to train singers, eventually teaching me. I began to study his technique, as well as continue my study in college. I enrolled in Westminster Choir College in 2012 and graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Music Degree. During my time in Westminster, I sang in different choirs and had the opportunity to perform with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the Philadelphia Philharmonic Orchestra. I worked with Dr. Kathy Kessler Price for my four years at Westminster. She helped me better understand the science behind the voice. Every performance opportunity helped me better my pedagogy. Once I graduated, I received further teaching from Mr. Lohman to prepare me for my own voice studio. I am grateful to have had the knowledge and instruction from these wonderful mentors.
EXPERIENCE
I began teaching voice lessons at New Windsor Music Academy in March of this year. While I teach different ages, I like to use the same technique for all. Each singer has different elements with their voice, yet can be trained with the same technique at the start. Once they are used to the new technique, I can help them with parts of their voice that are not as developed as other parts. I feel it is important to practice regularly, as the progression will increase quicker. I also encourage my students to record their lessons, not only to hear the different exercises, but also to hear the change in their sound. New Windsor Music Academy performs yearly recitals, which I always recommend my students to perform in. I feel it is a great way to show growth in not only the voice, but in the singer. It helps them feel more comfortable with being in front of a crowd, and excites them to sing new songs for each recital. I am always excited for new students. I know it can be tough to sing in front of a new teacher, but I will make them feel right at home and love singing!
METHODS USED
For every student, beginner or advanced, I talk to them about the style of teaching I provide. I first talk to them about the different segments in the voice: lower "ah" segment, chest segment, chest pull-falsetto segment, pure falsetto segment, and upper "ah" segment. I provide different warm ups that work in each of the segments, helping the voice gradually connect them in time. Once they are comfortable with learning the exercises individually, I then combine two of them to help the voice understand the development. When it comes to breathing, I use the breath as an energy tool to help the voice keep its strength. This will help the students learn to keep the energy high and let the voice be as open as possible. I will always simplify the exercises and make it fun for every age and help them grow their voice at a steady rate!
LESSON STYLE
I love to have students have a conversation with me about their love for music. This is a great way to encourage them to continue with practicing outside of the lessons. If a student feels they are not happy with their voice on a certain exercise, I will modify the way I word something or have them try the exercise in a different way. This way, they feel the difference and can feel happier about the sound they are producing. I never want to discourage a student from singing, especially if they are having trouble with an exercise or a phrase in a song. I will always help them find a different way to approach the technique and make it more fun for them to sing!

Sinclair is an absolutely incredible voice teacher. She is adept in making your own voice come out naturally and grow. As someone who has been studying voice for 10 years and has a Bachelor's Degree in Music, I have a lot of experience with voice teachers and Sinclair is most certainly at the very top of them all. Her techniques and teaching methods are extremely comfortable and effective. She is a kind and encouraging mentor. I highly recommend!

My 12 year old daughter began her lessons just a short time ago and already has strengthened and expanded her voice. She immediately felt comfortable with Sinclair. She is very accommodating to our busy schedule.

I take lessons with Sinclair, and she is very attentive to my goals. I have noticed dramatic changes since I have started. My overall sound has improved, my technique has improved, the strength of my voice has improved, and now I've got a myriad of warm ups and exercises at my disposal to practice on my own. You're doing yourself a favor by signing up with Sinclair.
