Although the main goal of learning an instrument is to learn how to express yourself through music, it is important to understand how we can do that by having a solid understanding of theory and history. I use positive reinforcement to get students motivated about practicing and I always want to put their musical interests as a top priority. I was the only teacher in the Academy who teaches improvisation.
