Having pursued music from a young age, my experiences as a vocal soloist and choir member have brought me all over the world, performing in such musical landmarks as the Sydney Opera House, Smetana Hall, and Carnegie Hall. I grew up learning both voice and piano, and my musical education has provided me more confidence and opportunities in all aspects of life than I ever could have imagined. I began teaching while pursuing my undergraduate degree in California and have since expanded my studio to include a wide spectrum of ages, styles, and experience levels.In 2012, I received my BA in Music with an emphasis in classical voice from Pepperdine University and have since gone on to complete my MM in Voice Performance from The Boston Conservatory. In 2012, I graduated with my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan, with a Minor in French and Francophone Studies. In my career, I frequently perform in Opera, Musical Theater, Jazz, and Dance, believing that a strong technique and performance principles can carry through genres. The foundation of any good technique is the most important aspect of maintaining that technique in a healthy way; similar to a dancer practicing at the bar each day, I encourage my students to internalize the foundational warm-ups first, upon which we'll build the rest of the vocal practice. I begin with students by asking their goals. Once I have a clear understanding of what results the student is looking for, I can then find ways to help them in achieving these goals. For instance, I always work with the student on warm-ups at the beginning of each lesson. I started teaching private lessons in high school. I taught guitar, bass, piano, voice, and songwriting lessons at Biryukov Academy of Arts and Music for 5 years for both kids and adult beginners. I have performed, written and music directed a children's theatre tour where I taught children to sing, act, and perform in front of large crowds. The classes are planned based on the individual's voice range. In general, classes begin with breathing techniques, followed by vocal warm-ups. Students at a beginner level will learn German lieder or Italian songs from the "24 Italian Songs and Arias" from the Schirmer's Publishing.
