Piano: For adults, I mix many methods together to see which one works well with the student, and make sure to know which songs they really want to play so I write it down for them according to tp their level. For young kids usually, I go between piano adventures and TRC, also I write for them the songs that they really want to play. Singing: I make sure we go with the style of songs they like and go from there to the singing techniques plus I try to add some solfege and ear training. always try to make it fun Read More

I have professional experience in classical, musical theater, and jazz styles and am comfortable teaching at every level. With regard to teaching, I have experience in one-on-one and group settings in my home and at Bach to Rock music school. Ive been teaching private vocal lessons for over 10 years, both vocal training and piano.I believe students should have fun while learning and participate in music outside of the classroom, so I encourage them to participate in recitals, competitions, and even songwriting to stay motivated and celebrate their progress. I do believe in the fundamentals of music and ultimately, no matter what you hear, learning music is not re-inventing the wheel. There is technique, reading music and understanding the basics of how the particular instrument works. I like the Essential Elements for Guitar or bass for guitarists and bassists and Alfred's Piano method books. Ted Reed's Guide to Syncopation is a good drum book. Ultimately I like to get the know the student as much as I can as soon as I can so I can help them get to what they want as soon as possible with a few laughs along the way. Read More

Singing is about expressing yourself, not about fitting into "molds." I'm interested in helping you find YOUR voice. Because of this, I use a highly individualized method of teaching, adapting my approach based on your wants and needs. If you want to sing classical music, let's sing classical music. If you want to get into pop or rock genres, let's rock out. With this in mind, my number one objective is to help you grow and develop towards your goals in a way that's both healthy and sustainable. My teaching style is very simple, "Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you'll feed him for a lifetime." This is my philosophy of teaching. I am extremely enthusiastic about arts education and passionate about teaching. Ever since I started teaching music with a focus on early childhood music, I have been passionate in my commitment to three things: maximizing individual student performance, inspiring students’ interest in music and technology as well as instilling a sense of self-worth among all students! Teaching piano is a great joy. My goal is to help students develop the skill to make playing music fun and satisfying, whether their goal is to become a professional or to simply enjoy playing for its own sake. I've worked for several arts agencies (Arts Horizons, Healing Arts Initiative, CREATE) so I've had the privilege to teach music in a variety of settings. While teaching in a classroom setting is immensely satisfying, seeing individual students grow in proficiency, dexterity. concentration, is an even bigger thrill. Read More

I work with a variety of learning methods including Hal Leonard, John Thompson, Bastien, Alfred, Hanon, Czerny and Faber. I select methodology and solo repertoire to best improve my students technique while at the same time keeping their interest and enthusiasm. I also encourage music compostition, arranging and improvisation to those students who express an interest and desire to learn who to write and compose music. In addition to teaching the fundamentals of piano I try to engage with my students to learn how to make music on the piano or voice. Read More
