My method of working with the voice is to first get a sense of what the student's goals are. These include both vocal goals and career/performance goals. We will then work together to form a plan to achieve them. This will include exercises tailored directly to the student's vocal needs and desires and guiding the student to repertoire that will both be fun for them to sing and will teach them more about the concepts we are working on. I enjoy when my students show improvement through dedicated practice. I encourage this by setting achievable weekly goals for them. This can be as simple as working through a known exercise at a few metronome clicks faster than the previous lesson, or as complicated as learning a whole song in one or more entirely new keys. One of my past students had received entry into the Fiorello H. Laguardia High School Of Music Art and Performing Arts.
