I love working with students who want to dare to try new things! I think that students grow most when they are stretched out of their comfort zone. This allows them to find their limits physically, vocally, emotionally, and then to build upon their strengths to become the artists they strive to be. For beginning voice students I usually start with breathing techniques, which I believe are the basis of good vocal technique, then vocal warm-ups, and singing repertoire. I am very flexible in following the interests and goals of the student, which are always my guide in lesson planning. I’m a singing teacher who is passionate about helping my students find their voice and tell their own personal stories in the songs we work on. Some become professional singers/songwriters if that is their goal. Some are accepted into college music programs.
