I almost always have taught lessons at my own studio where students come to me because that always seems to be the most conducive environment for learning and getting inspired. I will do whatever it takes to teach the student whatever they are willing to learn. If they want to learn a specific genre on an instrument that has never been used for that genre, I will be happy to teach them. For example, I can play trap music on a piano, but I could also play death metal on a piano as well. My teaching experience encompasses over a decade of teaching across three continents. I've taught in public high schools, music schools, multidisciplinary seminars and camps, universities (Yale, University of Toronto) conservatories (Cornish College of the Arts and Il Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana), and maintained a private studio since 2005. I am a mentor-style teacher. I love to see my students develop their love for music at their own pace, and I will do whatever it takes to help them achieve their goals. I feel that the music teacher/student relationship is something that can transcend music, and so I can be counted on for trustworthiness, reliability, punctuality, and honest encouragement. I also feel that it is critical that the music teacher themselves be a performing musician, and so I try to remain active with various performance projects involving piano and chamber music; this experience helps to benefit the student as well.
