I mainly use my own performing experience as a method to teach. I developed my own style throughout the years of performing...what works and what doesn't. But its all about experimenting, and getting out of the box. As a jazz singer, it's all about this. But I have studied classical and opera in college, so I have the knowlege of proper singing techniques, breathing techniques, etc. So with the combination of vocal experiences, there is a time and place for each type of singing, and I will pass that along to my students. I have a microphone and amplification system and would be able to teach students to sing with a microphone for live performances. I have been studying classical piano for almost 20 years. I have also played jazz piano for over ten years. Additionally, I have been playing flute for 12 years. I am currently accepting beginner to intermediate adult piano students. I often see that my students are able to find both enjoyment and enlightenment through music. This is accomplished by having a base in traditional style of music education, while also incorporating fun and relatable topics. I also see them develop a sense of confidence because of their ability to understand a subject that they may not have had much familiarity with before.
