I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing and Vocal Performance. I continued my training at Manhattan School of Music and received my Master of Music in Voice in 2016. What separates me from many other voice teachers is my varied background as both a performer and an educator. I have performed in musical theatre, operas, contemporary American plays, and Shakespeares classics. I also am an experienced educator, having taught middle school chorus and drama, directed student plays, coached students through New York State School Music Solo festivals, taught group singing to adult beginners, and worked with private students ages 11- older adults. For my piano students, I like to use a mixture of books from the Alfred, Bastien, and John W. Schaum collections. I eventually assign more advanced solo repertoire as the student progresses. For my vocal students, I pick music based on their interests and vocal qualities. I have taught my students musical theater, opera, art song, gospel, pop, and many other styles throughout the years. I also like to make sure my students have a solid understanding in music theory and often give out worksheets that help them practice how to sight read, recognize different key signatures, and more. Nothing is more rewarding to me than playing a role in the artistic development of young singers. I love being able to help my students gain confidence in their abilities and reach their goals.
