Young students will be taught using a variety of games, activities, and found in Suzukis theories. Music History and Music Theory are offered to intermediate and advanced students. I teach intermediate through advanced students of any instrument, beginning with basics such as key and time signatures and basic harmony. Classes are also offered in Species Counterpoint, musical forms and terms, and eventually Baroque and Classical compositional forms for any students participating in All State. Read More

This allows them to find their limits physically, vocally, emotionally, and then to build upon their strengths to become the artists they strive to be. I encourage parents to teach their children music from young age. Most of my students are kids from age 5-13, level starting from novice to intermediate. I have been practicing tutoring piano for 5 years and voice for 3 years. My teaching style not only includes standard piano playing skills, but also sheet music reading, musical hearing, and proper playing techniques. I mainly use my own performing experience as a method to teach. I developed my own style throughout the years of performing...what works and what doesn't. But its all about experimenting, and getting out of the box. As a jazz singer, it's all about this. But I have studied classical and opera in college, so I have the knowlege of proper singing techniques, breathing techniques, etc. So with the combination of vocal experiences, there is a time and place for each type of singing, and I will pass that along to my students.
