Instruments: Piano Voice Synthesizer Keyboard

I have been teaching students since early high school, starting on teaching middle schoolers classical clarinet. I did not teach much throughout college, as I had a very busy schedule entailing performing, rehearsing, composing, arranging, etc. However, I have taken pedagogy and education courses in both jazz and beyond, learning the methods and skills needed to teach students of all ages! I believe learning and playing what you love early on is the key to developing on your instrument, and the key to developing YOUR sound! Read More

I love teaching, and my teaching style reflects today's industry and styles. Incorporating production, arranging, harmony elements into my lessons makes students more eager to discover their own style and try new things. I love to create a nice relationship with the students, find out about his/her musical goals and passions and encourage him/her to explore his/her creativity to the maximum. I am always creating a friendly environment, so students can feel comfortable and willing to keep studying music. Read More

I began teaching almost 15 years ago, starting with private lessons, and eventually branching out to singing and handbell choirs, inner-city after school programs, outreach programs for the homeless, and adult continuing learning in Boston, MA. I moved to NJ 3 years ago to be closer to my musical theatre career, and have enjoyed teaching private lessons to typical and special needs students of all ages. I pride myself on being able to teach for all sorts of needs and understandings, and helping every student find their own personal voice and place in music. Read More

To begin with, I teach my students how to develop their own warm up method which includes breathing and stretching, vocalizations and good old fashioned solfege. You will learn to understand your own vocal mechanism and how it resonates, as well as how breath support works, and their effects on the singing voice. My teaching style is customized to the student.  I encourge working with scales, rhythms, improvisation, ear-training, also working with and learning songs. Read More

Its amazing to watch my students fall in love with their instrument and gain confidence and joy from learning to play. Everyone is different and will need to go at their own pace. My job is more of a "coach" - setting up structures and practices to help you succeed but not doing the work for you! I will help fuel your desire to grow as a musician and encourage you to progress at your own pace while celebrating each and every success along the way while tailoring my instruction based on my students needs and goals. I started out teaching "house call" style lessons, driving ALL over the area, just to gain students and experience! This was while attending graduate study for Music Education as well. Once I built up a good following, mostly via word-of-mouth, I was able to teach both out of my home (upon purchasing my baby grand piano which is currently in my studio today), and then moving into a shared studio space.
