My story in the music begins with the study of Venezuelan folk music. Later, as a violist, I was a founding member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra "Raimundo Pereira" (One of the Orchestras of "The Sistema") in Venezuela. I studied lyrical and popular song with Masters William Alvarado and Inés Feo La Cruz. I have two records production, the first, named Por el Medio Oriente, it is a musical project that fuses the sounds and rhythms prevalent in Middle Eastern music and culture and the second named Preludio y Coda, a romantic CD. I began teaching when I was a freshman in High School and I continued with a full-time load of students throughout all four years because of how much I loved it! Eventually adding some beginner adult students into my rotation of kids as well! I taught a few college level students throughout my college years whenever I could and took on summer students during my breaks! I strongly believe that every human being is capable of singing. Each person has something to say with their own unique sound. To get that sound out we just need to revert back to the simple tools that we all possess from speech, such as yells or cries, shouts, sirens, slides, and inflection. The first half of a typical voice lesson is spent on vocal warm-ups and vocalises. These consist of scales, arpeggios, vowel unification, breath work, etc. and have been accumulated from many teachers over a variety of traditions. Vocalises are the most important part of a solid vocal technique. The second half of lessons is spent working on repertoire either brought in by the student or assigned by myself.
