I received my Masters Degree and Performance Certificate in Classical Voice from Northwestern University and my undergraduate degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Composition from Texas Tech University. I always start with applicable musical theory to help the student understand the basics of piano and what are the proper techniques to play the instrument. The same applies to voice lessons. After a student is able to read music on the basic level and knows the placement of notes on the scale, we proceed to the basic repertoire and practice. I beginning with yoga, stretching and deep breathing. Breathing is the most important, so I like to teach my students how to breathe organically and free from stress in their body.
