I have been singing since the age of nine and playing the piano since I was thirteen. I started at the Brooklyn College conservatory and through opportunities have performed at different venues. I spent almost 20 years in private study though my educational background including through high school to graduate school. I have studied under several well known performers including Valerie Coates, Gene Bullard, Gerald Brown, and Paul Kim.  As well as I have been a private instructor for over 10 years. Read More

I think voice especially has always been viewed as a bit of a mystery... you can't see or touch your voice as you sing, unlike playing instruments, so there's a certain amount of imagination that has to be involved. I do my best to straddle making singing as tangible as I can, and approach things somewhat scientifically ("This muscle is used in this way," etc.) while also inspiring visualization ("Send your sound out into the distance," etc.) I also really think it's important for musicians to be diverse, so not only will we learn chord and strumming patterns on a guitar, we'll also learn how to read simple lead lines of solos, etc. Read More

Students will be encouraged to bring in pieces that they are interested in learning. For voice students, I will require them to not only learn theory, but they will be required to study piano for a short period of their lesson. This is meant to help boost their understanding of musicality, theory, and aural training. We will also begin with simple vocalizes that are catered to their style of singing. Read More

I enjoy watching students progress and improve. It brings joy to them and myself. Playing guitar or bass for me is a form of art therapy/meditation. It's a place where one can lose themselves and activate/stimulate the brain unlike any other engagement as the brain is simultaneously multi-tasking when playing an instrument. I've helped clients get past obstacles in their abilities and philosophy about the guitar/bass and music in general. Read More

I'm a passionate and driven Off-Broadway actor who loves working with new students and teaching them the foundation of music/theatre. I graduated early from The University of the Arts in Dember 2016 with a BFA in Musical Theatre. I've performed all over the U.S. and have worked with amazing individuals in the industry. I am mostly known for my classically rooted bari-tenor timbre and jazz stylization that influence my characters to seem vulnerable, yet grounded. Read More
