I can teach classical music and technicality, to jazz songs and improvisation, to songwriting and pop/folk oriented style of playing. I never teach two people exactly the same way, because each singer is unique. Each singer has an individual set of physical, mental, and emotional characteristics. My goal as a teacher is to address each of these three categories, allowing my singers to grow in each of them. Most important to my teaching is that each student to listens to a lot of music, and learns to play the music that they love as soon as possible. I work with a variety of method books/videos depending on skill level and stylistic interest, and teach time-tested regimens for building raw ability on the instrument.
