I have been teaching voice lessons for more than five years. I have taught a range of students from 10 years to young adults. I believe it is my job to help a singer find their voice by eliminating any strain, stress, or tension that the singer may force upon their voice. Read More

I truly love teaching; there are few pleasures greater than seeing students progress. I encourage them to discover how beautiful and fun music is, and help them to find and develop their own areas of interest and talent. Born in Japan of a mother who started me on classical voice and piano in my early childhood, I went on to play flute and the Japanese koto and shamisen, and to compose and sing my own songs. Nothing is more exciting for me to watch than when a student gains confidence within music! As a teacher it's important for me to lay the fundamentals and strengthen their dexterity in music. However, artists are born when a student's individuality is nurtured and they express themselves with the tools they've been given. It's one thing to gain knowledge in how to sing (or play), but it's another when you can communicate effectively with your instrument so that everyone else can feel it. Read More
