I am an experienced professional musician who performs and records regularly on multiple instruments and in many styles of music. I've composed soundtracks for national television shows and advertisements, and I am very passionate about teaching and sharing my love of music and the learning process. I never teach two people exactly the same way, because each singer is unique. Each singer has an individual set of physical, mental, and emotional characteristics. My goal as a teacher is to address each of these three categories, allowing my singers to grow in each of them. The beauty of studying music is that there is always something else to learn, but the most moving and fun part of singing is communicating ideas and poetry. I aim to develop personal ownership of songs/repertoire in all students (no matter their age) alongside the instruction and study of healthy vocal technique. When I teach a voice student, I'm teaching more than only music. I teach anatomy (bone structure, posture, alignment, breathing, jaw movement, etc.), vowel formation, language pronunciation skills, music theory/history, basic music reading, and poetic interpretation. Having pursued music from a young age, my experiences as a vocal soloist and choir member have brought me all over the world, performing in such musical landmarks as the Sydney Opera House, Smetana Hall, and Carnegie Hall. I grew up learning both voice and piano, and my musical education has provided me more confidence and opportunities in all aspects of life than I ever could have imagined. I began teaching while pursuing my undergraduate degree in California and have since expanded my studio to include a wide spectrum of ages, styles, and experience levels.In 2012, I received my BA in Music with an emphasis in classical voice from Pepperdine University and have since gone on to complete my MM in Voice Performance from The Boston Conservatory. I started teaching in high school. I was a successful performer, so people started asking if I teach. I studied and took online classes to strengthen my musical and vocal knowledge as a 16-year-old. I started teaching and built a successful 20-person studio in California for two years. Because of my time at the Frost School of Music, I have built a studio in Miami as well.
