I like to teach lessons that are fun and engaging. It is important to me that my students feel relaxed and comfortable with expressing themselves musically. I beginning with yoga, stretching and deep breathing. Breathing is the most important, so I like to teach my students how to breathe organically and free from stress in their body. The only reason I'm still pursuing music today is because i love it and i want to encourage others to do the same. Guitar/Ukulele/Banjo: I like to teach guitar, banjo, and ukulele like I was taught, which is through an exploration of music that the student's already like. My method varies depending on the student. If the student wants a traditional musical approach, and is interested in learning notation and theory, then we will usually start with the Hal Leonard Book Series. If the student doesn’t want to learn notes or the more advanced musical concepts, I usually just start by teaching them simple songs that they know from the radio, TV Shows or movies. Something to get them really excited about learning and practicing, and songs that they recognize and can show others. Read More

No one student is the same, and I create custom vocal exercises for each student. I will also choose music for students who don't have their own or would like ideas to set them in the right direction. I usually devote some time to teaching sight-reading in my lessons when someone is unsure of how to read music, and the rest of the time will be focused on the actual mechanics of vocal production and performing. The first six months are the hardest! That is the time when you are building up the muscles that are going to be the fundamentals for later on in your career. Although it might seem to the student that they don't see any change, it's happening more than they think! I continuously push my students to stay positive and not to give up within the first six months. Thank you for visiting my page. I guess music found me. On a family trip to Mexico by way of Arizona when I was eleven years old I remember guitars seemed to be everywhere.
