It's very digestible, and gives a good starting-off point for both technical playing, and larger musical concepts as a whole. With a student who is older or perhaps more advanced, who has a solid grasp on technical proficiency and music theory, I would typically recommend studying specific pieces, starting with Classical, and eventually moving into Jazz. My experience as a voice teacher dates back to 1995. I was invited to teach several Masterclasses over the course of twenty years. The invitations came from institutions such as: The Oberlin Baroque Performance Institute, The Guildhall School of Music (London), The Cleveland Institute of Music, The Royal College of Music (London) and The Royal Conservatory of The Hague. The method books applies to my philosphy of teaching rhythm in syllables (ta, ti-ti, etc.) and found success with all my students in their abilty to read notes and play well.
