Overview:

With over ten years of experience as a songwriter, performer, teacher, and recording artist, I have harnessed my passion for music, using it as an effective tool in empowering youth and adults from all over the world to build self-confidence through self-expression. Most recently, I developed a community music learning program which serves to give back to the community through music lessons and workshops that create accessibility and opportunity for beginners to pick up an instrument or write a song, to build upon musical self-expression. As a singer/songwriter, I have released several albums, teaming up with producer James Sabella (Marcy Playground, Nine Days), vocalist Angela Workman (Stevie Wonder) and percussionist Steve Holly (Paul McCartney).Additionally, I have successfully funded and organized several US tours garnering support from national press and college radio stations. Additionally, I have organized and performed at various fundraising events, raising money for children affected by life threatening illnesses as well as communities affected by natural disasters

EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching guitar and voice for the last five years to students of all ages and various levels. With the development of my music learning program, Musicphilia: Love for Music, my purpose is to engage students in fostering a positive experience in learning their instrument of choice.

METHODS USED

For all students, I like to start by addressing short-term as well as long-term goals that the student is looking to achieve in learning their instrument. In understanding their goals and their preference for genre/style and ability, I guide my instruction accordingly, keeping the lessons fun and engaging!

LESSON STYLE

Utilizing the philosophy of experiential education, I encourage my students to explore music through their own personal experiences. Understanding the experience we have with music in our everyday lives, allows us to personally connect with the music and sounds that speak to us, while aslo nurturing creativity and curiousity within our instrument.  My purpose is to not only teach the technical aspects of the instrument but also develop a deeper and more personal connection to music.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
