Because everyone learns differently, I teach from a technique I've developed which I refer to as the blank slate method. Though I do utilize workbooks for their very informative and easy to understand nature, I prefer to teach each student based on what they know or what comes naturally to them. This involves you the student, your instrument, and a pen and paper. I have over 10 years of experience in my field and 5 years of teaching under my belt.  Growing up with my father as a music teacher and my Grandmother as a dance teacher, teaching came very naturally to me.  Having sung a variety of genres myself, I have always welcomed a wide variety of students.  I’ve taught many types of singers ranging from Jazz Vocalists to Rock, Country, Pop, etc. and as a result I’ve put together a method of teaching that can be applied to many styles of music.  I find teaching to be a very rewarding job and always welcome new students of all ages, levels, and genres. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 5 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my studio for the last 2 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for singing/the instrument.
