I explain that it will be awkward to hold the bow in correct position because it is unusual for person to hold the right hand that way. After some time, when the student has more of a grasp on the fundamentals and reading music, then I will bring in some basic solo repertoire and music of their choice (Disney, Star Wars, etc.) to inspire them to continue and feel motivated to learn.
