I am here for you, the student. I take you where you want to go with music. I don't force any prescribed notions about what your musical goals SHOULD be, unless you're unsure of them. As a military brat, growing up, I had the privilege (and challenge) of moving a lot. I am familiar with a wide variety of cultures, types of people, and musical abilities and interests. I have loved music for as long as I can remember; Read More

My teaching style is based on motivation and fun. It is important to me that each student progresses at his or her own pace. Setting realistic goals for my students to progress and make them interested in learning more. Learning your first song it is very important that's why I let my students will choose their first song to learn. I also introduce music theory at the same time, so the students understand what they are playing. Read More

My teaching method is very keen to diagrams. In my experience, it can be hard to visualize some of the terminology that is provided my teachers. Using diagrams helps to put the instructors words into a more visual format. I also like teaching through some of the students favorite songs, it really helps keep the student interested in the lesson as a whole. Read More

I have been surrounded by music all my life. Starting at the age of three and lasting throughout elementary school, I was dancing folkloric Bolivian dances alongside family and friends at many ethnic dance events. In middle school and high school I was heavily involved in choir. In college I was introduced to and learned different styles of music, gigged around the Sanford and Lake Mary area with a jazz quintet, and was hired by the music program to be the music theory tutor. For piano I prefer Faber Piano Adventures and have different books I would recommend starting with depending on the students age and experience. For guitar and ukulele I prefer using the Hal Leonard method books. I often supplement these method books with outside sources and pieces as is appropriate for the student. For singing students, I have a wide variety of books and resources depending on the musical style. I come from a classical voice background, so when students are middle school age and older (sometimes earlier) we begin learning Italian Art songs in addition to musical theater pieces and English folk songs. That's the most important thing that I try to stick to in my teaching style, letting the student do the work and figure things out for themselves. For example, bringing a song to a lesson and wanting to learn it, but instead of just figuring it out and writing it on paper for them, I let the student work on it, and maybe give them little nudges in the right direction here and there.
