I am extremely flexible as a teacher. For every skill, there are a multitude of ways to learn that skill. There is no need to slug away for months at a solo or exercise that doesnt match your personal interests or learning style. Playing should be stimulating and fun, and I am passionate about finding different ways to make learning music appealing to all sorts of people, whatever your musical needs are. Read More

I've also found that a combination of classical and popular music can go a long way in helping students enjoy any string instrument and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I am not doing my job! I thoroughly believe in the practice cycle. If a student practices well, they get better, they want to play more, and they practice more. Read More

I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2019, I graduated from Cornell College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance and Kinesiology Exercise-Science. Performing in different states and islands has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to play on the same stage as Chaka Khan, learning from instructors Itzhak Perlman and the Catalyst Quartet. I'm a passionate and motivated teacher who loves performing, working with students, and sharing my love of music with others. I believe music is a gift that should be shared. I began playing violin 19 years ago and have played actively since. I began college in 2007 and studied music for a year before completing a degree in biology. However, I recently started studying music again at Berklee college of music and I am working on completion of my music degree. Read More

I like to begin the first lesson by recognizing the students strengths by having them show me what they can accomplish on their own. There are specific books that I like to teach out of depending on the skill level so that needs to be addressed during the first lesson. Recognizing and building on strengths to me should come before criticising weaknesses. Those will be addressed as they come along and exercises with scales and etudes will be chosen for those weaknesses, but that does not mean that challenging music needs to be played each and every time so that the student has to struggle for greatness. I am a Venezuelan violinist who grew up in "El Sistema", which has let people learn to love music, and has given the opportunity to less resourceful kids to make music through dedication and team work. In 2002 I joined my city's orchestra, the "Ciudad Guayana" orchestra in Venezuela. I played both first and second violin throughout my 16 years of being there. We performed challenging repertoire such as Scheherazade, Mahler, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven. Read More
