I am an energetic and patient (promise) teacher. I studied Piano at Music Conservatory of Porto (Portugal). For beginnng students who are children , I typically start with Faber's Piano Adventures. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals , I begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults I try to find out what the student is interested in and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. In each lesson the student and myself work to make goals for them to accomplish every week and discuss discuss the ways they might be able to go about accomplishing the goals. Sometimes I will make audio recordings of a student to track progress. For a student to sit and really listen to the improvemnets they have made I find to be one of my best teaching tools. I hold vocal performance degrees from Pacific Lutheran University and Boston University. Most recently I was a 2022 Laffont District winner and named the 2022 Ted Stevens Young Alaskan Artist recital winner.
