My name is Seth and I been working in the field of percussion for 18 years. My two degrees are in the field of music technology. Basically I look to combine music and technology together, which I use this method in my lessons. The reason I love percussion so much is the fact that you can turn anything you can imagine into a drum. With that mentality I can turn trash cans, paint cans, tables, virtually anything I want into a drum. Read More

I began teaching privately three years ago after earning both of my BM degrees from the University of Connecticut. Many students I have taught have numerous activities such as ensembles, sports teams, church, and other commitments. This is why I encourage students to practice daily with efficient techniques so they are able to continue to improve during their busy schedules. Also, I make an effort for my students to have fun in their lessons while having constructive criticism so the students are not discouraged and stay engaged. Read More

Ive had students with different ages and characters, and I learned how to treat every single student differently, because they all have different characters and talents. Being a professional performer myself, I know how important a teachers role can be on a students life. Read More

Instruments: Violin Viola

Although I do not teach Suzuki method, I do like to use the Suzuki method books as a resource for teaching younger students. The first piece my school-aged students learn will always be one that they know the tune to already: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, for example. Once students are comfortable in holding and using the violin, I introduce a little bit of note reading at each lesson. For adult students, understanding of the instrument will come much faster, so I love getting my students to play music with which they can focus on making a beatiful sound while still learning the fundamentals. I started gaining experience as a teacher over 5 years ago when I started teaching lessons to my freinds, some of who are now involved in musical projects of their own. I continued gaining experience in this field during college, where I would consistently meet with fellow students to instruct/tutor them outside of classes. I believe that through my experience I have been able to provide lessons that make learning both fun and interesting for the student. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
