EXPERIENCE
I am a classically trained pianist with four completed degrees in Piano Performance from Ukraine and the US. I have 15 years experience in teaching piano of all levels and ages. I performed at international festivals in Norway, Hungary, Syria, Canada, Italy, and Israel, Scotland, South Africa, I performed three times at Carnegie Hall in New York City. My solo recital in 2016 at the Myra Hess Concert Series in Chicago was broadcast live on WFMT Radio. Most recently I played in concert halls of Scotland, South Africa, and in multiple states of the USA .
METHODS USED
For beginnng students who are children , I typically start with Faber's Piano Adventures. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals , I begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults I try to find out what the student is interested in and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. I encourage analyzing the piece especially if the student is having difficulty memorizing it read about the composer or listen to other compositions of the same composer
LESSON STYLE
Understanding a style of a musical composition is always an important part of my teaching process. There are three elements of how I see a complex musician: emotional reaction to music, intelligent understanding of a musical composition, and the technical ability playing the piece. I always project a long-term and a short-term plans with my students. I believe only mutual interest and collaborate engagement would bring us to the goal. I believe of importance of music history, theory, harmony.
