In 2008 Nerea started working in schools through numerous Artist and Residency programs, helping children create their own songs, preparing performances, and combining poetry with music. In 2013 Nerea moved to Dubai where she taught music for 5 years in International, American and British schools. She also performed regularly throughout the region for weddings, corporate events, embassies, business councils, 5 star hotels, etc. Nerea has recently re-located to start a new-life in the beautiful state of Colorado where she teaches and performs regularly Read More
Instruments: Flute
I've been playing flute for over 15 years and have taken advanced private lessons myself for over 8 years. In my own journey as a musician, I've realized the importance of regular practice time and setting short and long term goals. In my time teaching younger students, I've learned that locking down the basics of tone and breath control are crucial techniques for becoming a great musician. It's also important to have a good mix of repertoire between classical and modern/pop pieces. Read More

For beginner students, I try to get them to learn a song by the first lesson. Eventually, I start them off by focusing on technique (learning notes and scales), tone development, etudes, and repertoire. Efficiency of effort in the fingers, usage of air, and holding of the body in order to produce a beautiful sound is a top priority. All the left and right-hand skills will be put into the interpretation of music, this is the last step for students who playing cello. Read More

I am 74 years young, have been married for 42 years, have six children, two birth and four adopted from Ethiopia, live near Parker on a 5-acre property with 4 horses, several dogs and a husband. I am healthy, flexible and friendly. I play with a flutist at several assisted living facilities. We play the oldies, a couple of classical pieces, a march, a polka and seasonal music that the residents recognize (at least they recognize most of the songs). Read More

I like for each of my students to move at their own pace, and if it takes you longer to learn something than it does your friends, so what? You both learned it, which is what's important. But if we try to move on before the student has adequately learned something, it'll just lead to discouragement and stress. You as the student want to stretch yourself, not snap in two. Read More
