Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! I tailor things to each students age, level and goals. I think anyone is able to learn an instrument and understand that we each learn and approach things differently. Some students are more oral or visual learners. I love music and love creating music experiences with others. I was in the I violin section in the Fairbanks Symphony orchestra the last few years. I received my Suzuki Teacher Certification for Violin books 1-6 in 2018. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Violin Performance in May of 2016. I use the Rubank Method for beginning, intermediate, and advanced clarinet and Saxophone. This series emphasizes the simple concepts to the advanced fundamentals, i.e. rhythm, articulation, breath support, fingerings. The lesson plans are incorporated in the Rubank Method with an easy progression through the fundamental starting with whole notes, half notes, quarter notes and simple to complex rhythms. I collaborate with my students to determine their needs and goals. When starting out with beginners, I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements for Strings. I then transition to Suzuki repertoire. I also include music individual to each student based on their interests. My methods are flexible and designed to draw out the strengths of each student.
