I began teaching music at the age of 15, primarily guitar and piano lessons for beginners ages 7-14 in my hometown of Parker, CO. At 16 I began teaching my students basic music theory and intermediate instrumental instruction. I moved to Boston in 2012 to pursue an undergraduate degree in Songwriting from Berklee College of Music in Boston, still actively teaching throughout my curriculum. I have now taught over 200 students ages 4 to 64 a wide variety of music-related subjects, including: piano, guitar, bass, voice, music theory, D.A.W. and notation software, and contemporary songwriting. I'm a very passionate and hard working teacher, with a goal to keep the legacy of music passed on. I believe in building relationships with all of my students, as I have learned people only want to learn from people they like. I graduated from West Georgia University with a BA in Guitar performance, and a minor focus on piano and saxophone. I have experience playing classical, jazz, and rock all over the country as well as in Germany for a jazz tour in college. Read More

For adult piano students I use the Older Beginner Piano Course by Bastien. Again, if they wish to continue with previously studied materials, I am more than happy to comply with that. For voice students, the music is geared to the individual. Read More

I take the time to dialogue with my students allowing them describe their vision and their desired goal. I then tailor a curriculum that best fits the student's learning style at an appropriate skill level geared toward achieving that goal successfully. Each one is encouraged to go at their own pace. Accomplishments are acknowledged and celebrated. For school age children, I've designed a colorful weekly practice assignment as guide for their practice times as an expression to show how much they accomplished in their studies. Read More
